Quote of Week: Life is one big road with lots of signs.
So when you riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind.
Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy.
Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality.
Wake Up and Live!
-Bob Marley
What I Want
Whitney Anderson
What I want is
Enough laughter
To fill up the years
What I want is
To never forget the times
With friends
And more friends
With these great memories
We’ll always have to hold
Laughing until we cry
The regrets we try to forget
Being young
Forever young
Football games
All the school dances
Holding tight
Never letting go
Songs that remind us
Of who we are
And where we’ve been
Walking down off that stage
Step 1, Step 2

"My Room"
Whitney Anderson
Yellow painted walls
pictures all over the place
clothes strung all over floor
I look in the mirror and see my face
A closet full of many clothes
you will see a stereo, TV , and even a clock
two fluffy pillows along with a blanket
not even a path where you can walk
Plates, cups, and even bowls
perfect place for my midnight snacks
fan always blowing, keeping cool
surely its a maid, this room lacks
A room with a rainbow of color
cell phone always set on alarm only mode
so many pictures, so many friends
I hope you enjoyed my humble abode!

Secret
Whitney Anderson
Like the wind
it sweeps through
Fast or slow, soon everyone
will know.
A sprinkle soon becomes
a hurricane

"bird poem"
Walnut Homecoming
Whitney Anderson
The fans all stand and cheer
the running back is quick
He grabs the ball, and runs the field
What an amazing trick
I hope this never ends
I turn and look at you
We smile, we laugh, out of control
Nothing I would rather do

"Revise Something"
I only received a 67% on this warm up, so I chose it to re-do :) Rewrite the following sentences with strong verbs, adjectives, and details. Keep the meaning the same, but make the sentences come ALIVE!
The girl lost her cat.
The car was a junker.
The boys walked home in the rain.
---
*The devastated girl lost her poofy cat.
*The sqeaky car was a rusty junker.
*The melancholy boys leisurely walked home in the sopping rain.

We love you Atlantic High,
We'll fight for you Atlantic High,
We'll keep you up, till we reach the top

The Wreck
Whitney Anderson
it has been
a white chevy truck
no longer remained
Pulling into the junkyard
totaled cars, metal, piled high
was it drugs, alcohol, a deer
were they too tired to drive?
It gives me comfort to know
the driver, passenger, the families
they know, how I feel
To see this mangled truck
with a body sized hole
in the windshield where I sat
tires pushed up, through the floorboard
CDs dance across the muddy floor
as I look to see a dash,
looking as if a tornado went through
seizing everything in it's path
My stomach drops, as I hear him say
"Whitney we thought you were dead"
The tears build up, break down the wall
I promised I would hold strong
I hold them close, not wanting to let go
My friends, basically my family
I could have lost something so close
Important, a life, our life, my friend.
